Saro Wallace’s research and fieldwork focuses primarily on the transition from the Late Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age in Crete; she has published numerous articles on the subject, as well as the book, Ancient Crete: From Successful Collapse to Democracy’s Alternatives, Twelfth to Fifth Centuries BC (CUP 2010).
